OUR CURRENT PROJECTS
WEYA
The Beijing Studio Center is a founding partner for the World Event of Young Artists. This program will host 1000 young artists ages 18-30 from around the world and work in tandem with the 2012 London Olympic Games to promote the Cultural Olympics. We will be sending a group of young artists to represent China and it's blossoming art scene.
Future History
Former 2010 artist in residence Scott Groeniger created Take Notice of Safe [recycled organism] during his residency with us. He then turned these prints into sustainable shopping bags which are now being spread to people to take with them to the farmers market and shopping locations.

Gwangju Art Museum and they will join the 7th Songzhuang Art Festival.

To collect and distribute information on residency programs, education programs, grants and exhibitions opportunities for Chinese art professionals to take informed in their interests.
To invite international artists, curators, critics, educators and policy makers to have a residency in china and have equally communication with their local peers and public.
To send Chinese artists abroad to attend conferences, forums, exhibitions, residency or education programs and develop Chinese positions and leadership on international culture issues.
To advice the Chinese art museums and culture enterprise on culture policies, builting partnerships, curatring international exhibitions, etc.
To build capacity and leadership within the Chinese creative sector through training programs, mentorships, residencyies, etc.
To provide educational art and culture programs for young people and communities for human development

Our residency program is an international program and is ideally suited to emerging and mid-career visual artists and designers who seek an intensely focused period of time with their ongoing art projects. Artists will engage and interact with their Chinese counterparts to exchange ideas, critical feedback, and become immersed in a new and inspiring culture. BSC also welcomes art professionals and researchers who are interested in the Chinese contemporary culture scene and would like to be involved.

Application deadline for early consideration is April 22nd. We will continue accept applications through May 15th.
The first session is scheduled from May 28th to June 23rd, the second session is from July 2nd to July 28th.
BSC offers two four-week summer residencies as part of the International Summer School Program. International artists, college students, professors and art professionals have the opportunity to live and travle in China, and enjoy traditional and contemporary Chinese culture, communicate with peers, attend workshops, join lectures, go to see exhibitions, etc. We hope to inspire new ideas in current and future bodies of work.

EATING
The BSC took part in this one day contemporary art exhibit on the culture surrounding eating.
FUTURE HISTORY
BSC hosted resident artist Scott Groeniger, who created pieces that are being repurposed, handed out, and reused.
As part of London's Cultural Olympiad, BSC is a founding partner of WEYA, an event to bring young artists from around the world together.

ABOUT
"Eating" was a one day contemporary art group performance. Twenty one artists created food based, interactive pieces of work based on the act and society of eating.
